Part WR60X187 Refrigerator Condenser Fan Motor Assembly
Purpose
Circulates air across the condenser coils and compressor to dissipate heat.
Details
The condenser fan motor is a crucial mechanical component positioned in the lower machine compartment at the rear of the refrigerator, adjacent to the compressor. This 115V motor features a 3-round-pin connection terminal and is designed to continuously pull ambient air through the rear grille, routing it directly across the high-temperature condenser coils. This constant airflow allows the hot refrigerant gas to cool and condense back into a liquid state while managing heat levels around the compressor body. Additionally, the airflow helps evaporate accumulated defrost water sitting in the lower drain pan. Over years of operation, dust, lint, and pet hair bypass the rear cover and settle into the motor bearings, causing them to dry out, bind, or seize completely. Common symptoms of a failing condenser fan motor include both the fresh food and freezer compartments becoming too warm, a noticeably hot exterior cabinet mid-section, a loud rattling or squealing noise from the bottom-rear of the appliance, or the compressor cycling off prematurely on its thermal overload safety switch.
Included Items
Includes one genuine OEM 115V condenser fan motor with an integrated 3-pin electrical receptacle and mounting hardware. Note: The plastic fan blade is not included and must be transferred from the original motor assembly. A nut driver or Phillips screwdriver is required for installation.
