Part 202470 Washer Water Level Pressure Switch
Purpose
Monitors and regulates water levels during fill cycles.
Details
The water level pressure switch monitors the volume of water inside the washing machine tub during the fill cycle. As water fills the tub, it forces air up through a plastic pressure tube connected to the switch, triggering internal electrical contacts once the designated water level is reached to signal the water inlet valve to shut off. Over time, the internal diaphragm or mechanical contacts within the switch can wear down, stick, or fail. Common symptoms of a faulty pressure switch include a washer overflowing, failing to fill with water, filling slowly, or stopping mid-cycle during the transition between filling and agitating.
