Purpose

Detects moisture level during automatic drying cycles.

Details

This genuine OEM moisture sensor bar is used in select LG and Kenmore dryers to determine how wet the laundry load is during operation. As clothes tumble, the sensor detects remaining moisture and sends feedback to the control board to adjust cycle length and shut the dryer off when clothing is dry. A worn, corroded, or non-responsive sensor may cause extended cycle times, under-drying, or the dryer stopping prematurely. Replacing the moisture bar restores accurate sensing and improves drying efficiency.
