Purpose

Shuts off heat if the dryer overheats.

Details

This genuine OEM high-limit thermostat is used in select LG and Kenmore dryers. Mounted on the heater housing, it monitors internal temperature and opens the circuit if the dryer reaches an unsafe heat level. When this thermostat fails, the dryer may stop heating, take too long to dry, or produce inconsistent temperatures. Replacing it restores proper safety regulation and allows the dryer to heat correctly when airflow is normal.
