This genuine OEM oven igniter is engineered for select gas ranges by Whirlpool and affiliated brands (including Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef). It mounts to the burner or burner assembly and glows intensely to open the gas valve and ignite the burner flame. When this igniter fails, common symptoms include the burner not lighting, long ignition delays, weak flame, or the oven heating very slowly. Replacing the igniter restores proper ignition and consistent oven performance.
