This flexible rubber seal is installed along the front edge of the dishwasher tub to prevent water from leaking out during the wash and rinse cycles. Over time, the gasket can become brittle, cracked, or compressed, leading to water pooling on the floor or moisture damage to surrounding cabinetry. Replacing a worn seal restores the airtight and watertight integrity of the unit.
