This is the OEM thermal cut-off and high-limit thermostat kit for Whirlpool-family electric dryers. It monitors and limits temperature: the fuse (thermal cut-off) permanently opens when temperatures exceed its rating, while the thermostat (high-limit) regulates high temperature but can reset via control cycling. Common failure symptoms include no heat, dryer shutting off too early, or overheating. Using the correct kit helps maintain safe operation and prevent damage to dryer heating components.
